Belonging Ministries...

Since the days of our founder John Wesley, the people called Methodist have believed that every Christian is called to be a part of a community where spiritual growth is nurtured and encouraged, where trusted and beloved friends can faithfully ask each other, "How is it with your soul today?" Here at First Church we try to provide opportunities for such groups to thrive. We call them Accountability and Covenant Groups.

Accountability and Covenant Groups

Groups are continually forming which meet weekly for one hour. Prayer, study, and mutual support are the pillars of these groups modeled on traditional Methodist class meetings. (For more information about the nature of Covenant Discipleship groups in our United Methodist tradition click here.)

Women's Retreat

The women's retreat is an annual event in October for the women of the church, featuring guest speakers and fellowship at a local retreat center. A mission is always a part of this event where new friendships are forged and our hearts are warmed by the fellowship we find among our sisters. A copy of the Women's Retreat brochure with registration form is available in the church office or click here. Call Robin Spencer, parish nurse, at extension 107 for more information.

Days Apart

First Church is developing Spiritual Days Apart (mini-retreats) for women, men, and couples. Watch the Good News for details.

WAGS

WAGS is a group organized by our parish nurse. WAGS stands for WannA Go Somewhere, or Wednesday Adults Go Social, depending upon our mood! Senior adults meet monthly for food and fellowship (except during the hot summer months) and enjoy a program of interest to all. Call the office for more details.

All Church Family Camp

Every spring the church family gathers at a camp in the Prescott area for a weekend of fun and fellowship. All ages come together

Fellowship Events

Dancing to the music of the fifties, throwing horseshoes, eating pumpkin pie, enjoying a bowl of ice cream on a hot July afternoon... these are just a few of the kinds of fellowship events the church sponsors regularly.
