The Foundation...

The First United Methodist Foundation of Phoenix is a major benefactor of the ministries of First United Methodist Church. The Foundation is funded primarily by estate bequests. When you name the First Church Foundation in your will or trust, you guarantee lasting support of the church and its ministries. Interest from investments over the years have funded a variety of special and ongoing projects. One of those projects is our Memorial Garden.  

The assets of the Foundation are currently about $4 million.  Proceeds from these funds provide approximately one tenth of the church's annual operating funds, supporting such ongoing projects as our visitation ministries, our parish nurse ministries, and our international mission trips.

In addition, the Foundation funds a scholarship program for college and seminary students related to First Church, and several designated mission ministries. United Methodist Outreach Ministries is a major recipient of Foundation funds.

The Foundation holds an annual "thank you" banquet for supporters. Pictured below are some early arrivals at the 2004 banquet when we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Foundation.
